Q&A: Microsoft Office Pro vs. Home/ Student??

Question by evelynn waugh: Microsoft Office Pro vs. Home/ Student??
I’m enjoying a trial of Microsoft Office Professional. It’s an incredible software. I’m completely sold, however, I’m trying to distinguish a difference between Office Pro and Office Home/ Student before I decide to purchase either. As far as price is concerned, I’m feeling more inclined toward the latter, only I’m worried I might miss out on something. It seems Pro has many more useful programs that Home/ Student (Naturally, it costs significantly more). I just need to find out what programs does either offer. I can’t seem to find that information anywhere. Can anyone volunteer a suggestion or two, many thanks.

Dell Studio 15 or White Macbook?? HELP PLEASE!?

Ok, here’s the deal. I am a college student and I really want a macbook. The mac that I want costs approximately $1000 with my student discount and the dell costs approximately $730. I am capable of saving up the money for the mac but I really want to know what I’m paying for. I’m a working college student so obviously I don’t have money to waste. Gives me some pros and cons about mac vs. dell/windows. Also take into consideration that the price of the dell includes microsoft office (which as i student i can’t live without). Also note that the dell is equipped with 3GB of memory and 250GB hard drive compared to 2GB of memory and 120 GB hard drive on the mac What can I do on a mac that i can’t on a pc? Just tell me any and everything that will help me choose, i really want the mac but i also want to spend my money wisely. And please, only respond if you have had experience with both macs and pcs. Obviously if you’ve had a pc all your life and has never used a mac, you will suggest the pc. So no biased answers please!

Trying to decide on a starter laptop?

Trying to decide which laptop to buy. Walmart has them both. Only diferrences I see are screen size, brands (Compaq vs Toshiba, AMD vs Intel), graphics, and price. Is the Toshiba worth $150 more than the Compaq? I know they are both bottom ends, will be just browsing net, watching a few dvds, few lower end games, maybe a bit of you tube.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

EverNote vs. OneNote?

They are both notetaking programs, evernote is free, but I already have onenote (it came with microsoft office home & student, which I “needed” for school)

Has anyone used both, is one actuall better then the other, because I havent actually used either much yet, and don’t want to download evernote if onenote is better, or the same

I just want to get used to whichever one i use before i actually start class on august 31st

(sorry for typos and grammatical errors, its late/early and i’m tired)

thanks!!

Mac vs PC? (In terms for a Home/Student user)?

Sup. School is starting in 2 weeks, and I have a Gateway M-6841 with Windows 7 RTM. I find it faster than Vista, but it doesn’t have many features so I’m probably going back too it. Vista is bloated because if you have it, the UAC is constantly nagging, It’s slow, and just to make it more clear. ITS SLOW. So I’m Looking into mac’s (not in there direct stores, but on ebay) and on ebay, they’re a good 500-600$. So what would be better, a Mac or a PC for me?
Mac : http://cgi.ebay.com/MacBook-13-2-16Ghz-Intel-Core-2-Duo-White-w-Warranty_W0QQitemZ370243380084QQcmdZViewItemQQptZApple_Laptops?hash=item563439a374&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
My laptop is around that range (retail is 1000$ in 2008) so i’m pretty sure it’d be about that much, or maybe more/less.
I like surfing the web, watching youtube videos, using microsoft office, and basic stuff. so should I get this mac, or should i keep up with this PC?

Differences between Microsoft Office Products…Home and Student Vs Professional?
