TwitterFor a Macbook, what would you recommend? It seems like iWork would work perfectly, but I keep getting told to get Office since it’s more well-known and has more stuff. The only thing is, I’d only be using the three things that come with iWork, and it’s cheaper.
If it matters, I’m a college student.

June 30th, 2010 admin Dear community, I have been involved for days in macros programming, and I would like to know if there is a vocubulary or a compaund where I can find the quivalents of all the commands from Microsoft Excel to Open office, Oh as I alredy stated before some body has worked a lot to make things far more complicated

i will be working very closely with many pc computers and im trying to find the most compatible programs..
iWorks or Microsoft Office?
or are they two completely different programs..?

June 28th, 2010 admin I’m about to buy a new Dell computer. They were going to install MS Office for about $200 but then I heard of Open Office and since it’s free I’m wondering if it is pretty much just as good as the MS version?
Please understand that I am almost illiterate when it comes to computers. I currently use a 1995 version of MS Excel and MS Word just for my own personal use. I only use the bare essentials of these programs, nothing fancy! They work just fine for my purposes although I’ve noticed that they won’t open Word documents that people email to me.
So my question is….is there any downside to me saving around $200 and going with Open Office instead of MS Office?
Finally, I searched for other questions here about Open Office and it seems like most people think it’s a good thing. Except the answers all had very low ratings, as though Microsoft employees spend their days voting against Open Office instead of working to make their own products better. Anyone else notice that?

June 27th, 2010 admin Im confused..My daughter got a netbook with XP. I noticed there is no Microsoft word and Excel, but something called microsoft works word processor and microsoft spreadsheet? Did this take over what Im use to? Can I get it somewhere? Thanks 4 yr help!
