admin I am a software developer who is trying to build some software that works with Microsoft Office. I am trying to understand whether or not I should support Office 2003.
My guess is that Office 2003 still does have significant market share in terms of installed base.
Does anyone have any insight or data on how has Office 2007s Market Penetration been? Or what is the installed base of Office 2007 vs Office 2003?
Any insight will be much appreciated.

2 Comments » July 1st, 2010 admin One of the schools I work at was debating what version of Microsoft Office to teach in their Administrative Support Career Programs. Many of the students when they first enroll did not know really much at all about Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher).
It was the belief by school administrators that most companies are still using Microsoft Office 2003 and because the 2007 Version is so different, it is best to teach the older version. Others thought the new version should be taught because eventually all companies are going to switch and the planned 2010 Version will be more similar to 2007 than 2003 or XP.
What do you think? What should be taught?

which i have found thru web searches, does any one use open office? and how is it . will it open ,edit ms word/excel files i receive at work. how does this work. ? help please
