admin Question by Lee H: What are file extensions from MSWORKs and WordPerfect?
Need to recognize non-OFFICE (.doc) extensions when reviewing files.
Is there any way to read these using MSWord or WordPad?

Works are WPS files, Word Perfect is WPD. OpenOffice is SXW.
Both programs allow to safe into other formats, but those are the default ones.

No Comments » July 11th, 2010 admin Every time i turn on my computer a window pops up. It says: “The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the ‘WordPerfect Office 12′ disk and click OK.”
I dont have any such disc. I’ve tried clicking OK and Cancel but when i do another window pops up and says “Error 1706.No valid source could be found for product WordPerfect Office 12. The Windows Installer cannot continue.” I will press OK on that window then the install pops up saying please wait while windows configures WordPerfect Office 12. And it does it all over again. I’ve tried exiting out of it with Task Manager but it eventually comes back after a few minutes.
Because of this i can’t update my itunes. It says another installation in process. this is very annoying! its done this for months.
Please help me. Thank You
*NOTE: my computer is a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP*

Also does the fact that it lists 802.11 in under connectivity mean that it’s all set for wireless networking? Or do I still need to buy something?

July 10th, 2010 admin I have open office writer on my computer. I recieved a document from my instructor for an upcoming assignment that was in .doc format.The thing is I can’t open it because I have used up my wordperfect and microsoft word trials. I need to make modifications to this document and it doesn’t open it directly in open office.
What are my options?
July 10th, 2010 admin I sent an e-mail to myself from my office yesterday. I attached a WordPerfect document as an attachment to it. I am now trying to open it from my new Dell computer with Windows Vista on it from home now. It is a brand new computer, but the attachment will not open. I keep getting a message “There is a dialog box open. Close it first.” What is a “dialog box” and how do I close it? I am not able to save the attachment.
July 10th, 2010 admin I bought a software (Corel WordPerfect Office X3: Student & Teacher Edition) at future shop 5 months ago and got a $100 rebate. Now I want to buy another software (Corel Paint Shop Pro X ) which also comes with a $100 rebate.
The question: the rebate is limited to one per household. Does that mean per product too? These are two different products but from the same company, will they give me another rebate or not?

July 10th, 2010 admin I used Microsoft Windows System Restore to return my computer to an earlier operating state however when I did it all my PowerPoints, Excel, Word turned into Presentations, Quatro Pro, WordPerfect respectively.
How can I get around this problem???
I have Dell Inspıron E1405 with Intel Core Solo.
